Friction Farm supported by Flo Perlin

28 September @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

£12.50

Modern-folk duo Friction Farm, a husband and wife team of traveling troubadours. Aidan Quinn and Christine Stay, combine storytelling, social commentary and humour to create songs of everyday life, local heroes, and quirky observations. Folk Award Finalists, they also won the South Florida Folk Festival Songwriter competition. Their CD, “Evidence of Hope”, reached no. 10 on the Folk Radio Chart, and was inspired by “the collision of strong political polarity with personal kindness; the intersection of fragility and breathtaking beauty.”

Support will be provided by exciting up-and-coming new artist Flo Perlin. She is a contemporary singer-songwriter from London, with Iraqi and Belarusian heritage. Hailed as a ‘true storyteller’ by BBC Radio 6 with a style that blends contemporary folk, jazz and soul, her songs explore themes such as family history, human nature and being good to yourself. Her unique, emotive voice and lush instrumentation draws you deeper into her lyrics revealing more with every listen. “Utterly captivating and instantly endearing” – Russ Jeanes BBC Radio 6, “Her voice is that of an angel (With just a hint of Mayhem)” – Bill Adamson
